1971 Franks Dream Boattail

Hello, I live in South Florida and I have found my dream car late last year (2008) on ebay . I have been looking for a clean and all original 1971 Riviera for a long time since I have owned a 1972 Riviera for over 10 years and even though my 72 was nice and I have converted it to look like a 71... to me it was still a 72. So one afternoon I looked on ebay as I always do when I get home from work I found a listing for a clean 1971 Boattail and the pictures looked very nice and I wanted to see the car in person since it was local for me..about 1 1/2 hour from my home and I drove up to see it. When I got there I was like WOW!!..this car was like brand new!!...I could not believe my eyes. This car was like a Time Capsule..the carpet, seats, headliner, dashboard, Paint Etc...was perfect. The gentleman was selling the car for a friend that brought it down from Georgia and told me it was a one owner car and it was pampered since it was new. Unfortunately even though he was selling the car locally he wanted to see how high the auction would go on ebay and told me to wait until the auction ended later that day.  I offered him a high dollar for it before I left and he still did not want to sell it to me. So I had a friend bid on it for me over the phone as I anxiously waited for the auction to end and my friend got outbid just at the end of the auction. I called the seller immediately and offered him $1,000.00 over the high bidders price and he told me he was going to think about it until the next day since the winner lived overseas. The next day I got a phone call in the morning from the seller telling me he would take my offer. I immediately drove up with my friend to pick up the car and drove it back to my house with no problems. I take the car to a lot of classic car shows and I have gotten a lot of compliments on the car and taken several trophy's . I have been offered twice what I paid for the Riviera and no money would make me sell it...to me this was a Boattail collectors dream car and I am proud to own it. It has the original Am Fm stereo radio, rear defroster blower, power windows and locks, and Very cold A/C....still original R-12 system and all four original T-3 headlights....everything works flawlessly. I recently  found a new set of N.O.S  H 78-15 Goodyear Power cushion tires from the mid 70's that have been in storage since then with no dry rot at all and I had them mounted. The engine runs like new and a great sound with new dual exhaust and Flowmaster mufflers. I hope you enjoy the pictures of my car.
