Visual Harassment from Finland
The "Visual Harassment-Riviera" has changed a bit from the first pics.
(pics with the whitewalls) It has more paint added over the previous paint job and 17 wheels and tires. Those whitewalls were just leftovers from my previous vehicle, while I was waiting the big ones.

The idea behind the '72 Riv is actually to make it look like a sort of Factory Custom, based on some ideas from the Silver Arrow Riv. The paint job is half flat, since the car is not ready yet. But instead of painting it flat black as everybody does, I painted the reflections on it. The wheelwell extension is also painted, as well as the chrome strips around the wheelwells. There are painted louvers on the hood and the whole thing is assymetric. You should look it either from left front or left rear to get the idea...

I would like to see my Riv. as a Grand Tourer, I have also called it as Buicgatti Gran Corniche, because of the obvious resamble of the Bugatti Atlantic from the late 30's. But also because my dream is to take the car to the place it belongs: Riviera. Grand tourers used to have big tires, so have mine too. Just today I found a set of 235/65 -17 tires. Fit nicely to the enlarged wheel openings in the rear. They are rised some 6 cm:s, and cut some 20 cm:s longer from the rear than the original. The cut coil springs are some 7 cm:s shorter than the original.

The rear deck is customized the same way as the 70's Silver Arrow. The chrome bezel around the taillights has been removed. The opening for the rearlights is welded shut in the trunk lid, light unit is lovered some 4 cm:s to fit entirely to the opening in the rear bumber. Taillites are covered with stainless steel mesh. The front bumber is cut in the middle and the bumber overriders are narrowed and attached on the ends of the bumberettes in front.

Interior is mostly stock, exept the naugahyde is now bronze dyed and the woodgraining on the doors is covered with silver rolled and pleated naugahyde. Floor mats are cut from the same stainless steel mesh as the rear lights are covered of. The steering wheel is Nardi of course.

Techically the car is mostly stock. Everything works and it's a joy to ride with the family. We spend our summer holidays in different meetings and I can assure you, the trunk is FULL of tents, kids stuff and everything else under the sun...

Here are some pics of the car as it is now. Unfortunately I have nothing from inside, maybe I can include them later.
Cheers,
Pekka
