The first picture seems to be taken in the same sessions as the one on the cover of the 1971 Brochure . The golden 71 is a GS as you can see now. According to what John Houlihan said it is probably taken around september 1970 when the first boattails where on the road for testing

Second pic is a very nice two-page ad from Life-magazine january 29, 1971.
Among articles about 'war-wounded children of Vietnam' and 'hot-pants-to wear everywhere' a large ad of a boattail with a jetplane, suggesting luxury, speed and aerodynamics for the new car.

It looks great if you set your desktop color to black and use the pic under the link as background (centered).

Third is a special magazine ad to promote the GS version of the boattail.
This picture has been heavely edited by Buick.
Back in 1971 they didn't have the techniques we have now to edit a picture and it shows.
Check the wheels of this car; they are a little bit 'thin' !
cutted and pasted with a scissor and glue... :-).

Next one is also from a magazine but it is unclear which one.
It is a b/w print of the ad with jetplane.
